| The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults |
| Each Holy Saturday, the Roman Catholic Church in the United States receives tens of thousands of new members. The process by which adults are initiated into the Roman Catholic Church is called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, or R.C.I.A. This is an intimate journey filled with grace during which adults are fully initiated into the Catholic Church. R.C.I.A. will be held at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Student Newman Center on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., beginning October 25, 2006. All are invited, including practical Catholics who simply wish to learn more about their faith. During the Easter Vigil in 2007, candidates will receive full initiation into the Catholic Church. By the help of her prayers may we follow Christ in poverty of spirit and come to the joyful vision of Your glory in the Kingdom of heaven. We ask this through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen. |
